We are delighted to be able to present the latest releases from Massimo Di Costanzo; one of the Napa valley’s most talented and dynamic young vignerons. With his star firmly in the ascendant, Massimo has been able to to expand his range with some exciting new parcels to add to his flagship Farella. The results are stunningly individual, site specific wines with more than a hint of his European ancestry showing through. The style harks back to Napas of old, with structure, freshness and detail alongside a modern day understanding of extraction, tannin management and ripeness. When we visited in October, right in the middle of the recent power cuts, Massimo explained that while he was having to read his kids stories by torchlight, his style of winemaking wasn’t affected. There’s very little tech in his cellar.

The three wines on offer today are built squarely in the Di Costanzo mould; bright precise fruit, excellent acidity, vibrant and intense minerality – yet all seem imbued with more structural refinement and balance than we’ve seen before. “Ridge challengers” was how one of the team described them, and indeed if you are a fan of that style of Californian Cabernet, these will certainly appeal to your taste, yet at half the price.    Read More
