Whispering Angel

Whispering Angel
One of the great things about Sacha Lichine’s Rosés is that you don’t necessarily need sunshine in order to enjoy them. They are that good. In fact, you could argue that they are the essential Rosés for our current gloomy summer. Sunshine optional, satisfaction guaranteed!

This is the first vintage we’ve offered Whispering Angel and Garrus and while we’ve tasted them before, it wasn’t until we really studied them in our tasting room that we realised quite how well made and drinkable they were. Whispering Angel itself needs little introduction. Supple, silky and impeccably balanced, there is a very good reason for its meteoric rise in popularity around the world, being both versatile and extremely delicious.

Garrus on the other hand is something else entirely. Produced to be the finest Rosé in the world, from 80 year old Grenache vines with a dollop of Rolle, it is certainly the single most interesting Rosé we’ve ever tasted. Aged in wood, with weekly battonage, it is full bodied but eminently refined. Complex isn’t usually a word you’d ascribe to rosé, but here it is writ large, matched by texture, saline minerality and a sense of presence that places this commandingly in the world of fine wine.

Large formats are readily available, a must for the social occasion, and should our summer eventually play ball, the addition of sunshine will only enhance your enjoyment of these very excellent wines.

Whispering Angel in stock today, while a shipment of Garrus lands in three weeks. August holidays may have just become even more enjoyable….
