Benrinnes, 21 Year Old, Lowland, Special Releases 2014, 1992

1 bottle
£250.00 per bottle

Tasting Note:

A limited edition, natural cask strength single malt, released in 2014 as part of the Diageo Special Releases. The first of its kind to be released from the distillery for five years. From ex-sherry European Oak casks, were only 2,892 individually numbered bottles made available worldwide. Polished copper in colour with excellent beading. On the nose it is extremely reserved. Savoury at first with hints of truffle oil and earthy with a fruity sweetness of ginger cake and sultanas. With time, a sweetness emerges as dark treacle toffee; then grows richer, as sweet, buttery pastry. Light-bodied, and gently oily, on the palate it is Big, smooth-textured and mouth-filling, with a sweet and spicy nature. The first sip cools, then the taste catches fire. The finish is long, chewy and warming, with a menthol effect, a hint of flint, then burnt currants and traces of smoke.
