Appellation: Campbeltown

Campbeltown is historically an extremely important region for Scotch whisky production – at one point in time it had more distilleries than any other region. Whilst the quantity of distilleries has been reduced it goes without saying that the quality here has only got better and better. Whereas the region once boasted over 25 individual distilleries by 2010 this number was a mere three; Springbank, Glengyle (Kilkerran) and Glen Scotia. The region is innovating again and the limited releases from these distilleries are highly sought after.
