“It’s a Bentley!” estate director Stéphane Follin Arbelet remarked – by which we think he meant a stylish, powerful, deeply satisfying wine. That, at least, was our take.

The Clairs are in a purple patch and their glorious 2022s do nothing to halt their run of brilliance.

“We had time. It was hot, but not too hot, and we had humidity in the mornings after cool nights.” You find the calm mirrored in the range. These are excellent 2022s.

This is one of the most exciting domaines in the Côte d’Or at the moment, with an expanding portfolio of vines and eyes for only the very best.

Old vines are a feature of this 8ha domaine, and it is these, given careful husbandry, which allows Pascal’s wines to so regularly punch so far above their appellations.

The most northerly village in the Côte d'Or is a patchwork of diverse terroirs, and one of the most improved appellations in recent years. A great place to look for value.

There may be no Grand Cru's in Meursault, but the finest 1er Cru's more than make up for that, while the best of the village lieux-dits regularly outperform their station.

A village of huge diversity. In the right hands, these can be some of Burgundy's most satisfying wines.
