Chantal Remy
Chambertin, Grand Cru, 2010
justerini & brooks tasting note
From a parcel of 50-year-old vines in the northern part of Chambertin, where the wines tends to be particularly refined in style. Intense, ripe fruit hits you straightaway, surprisingly open-knit for a Chambertin, this gives a staggering amount of immediate pleasure without sacrificing complexity or finesse. Bursting small berry fruit flavours, notes of alpine strawberry, sloe, bilberry and morello cherry, touches of plum skin and fruit stone with an earthier, spice and sap undertow. Exquisite.
