    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note
Génot Boulanger, Corton, Les Combes, Grand Cru, 2013

A more elegant, red-fruited Corton than you would expect. And so much the better for it. Moreish and mouth-watering, lovely small garriguettes strawberry fruit with notes of cherry and flint. Smooth but bright, beautifully textured. Easy to love. A 0.47 ha parcel of 35 year old vines planted in the Les Combe lieu dit, a south west facing site planted on red clay soils.

The 2020 Corton Les Combes Grand Cru has a very open-knit and transparent bouquet with red cherries, wet limestone and light sea spray scents. The palate is well balanced with a pleasant rondeur on the entry. Maybe a little higher in pH than its peers, smooth and pliant for a Corton, this fans out gently and reassuringly on the finish. Despite its Grand Cru status, this should be pleasurable in its youth.
