Chambolle Musigny, Les Baudes, 1er Cru, 2014

A clear step up from the regular Premier Cru, less immediately pretty but more complex. Dense, dark fruits of the forest, there is plenty of substance here, the structure is solid but the texture is incredibly silky, whilst the fruit flavours expand long into the finish. A very accomplished, if more powerful style, Chambolle.
