From two parcels of Volnay Villages vineyards, the 2009 is perhaps even weightier and fruiter than the 2005, wonderfully perfumed, heady notes of violet, blueberry, red cherries and spice, almost something Piedmontese about the nose in a floral, spicy seductive way, a nice smooth tannic grip underpins this wine’s sensual and sweet character. Truly svelte fruit-packed Volnay Villages with excellent depth.
