A Volnay of great joie de vivre; silky and delicate in texture; shimmering with beautiful, bright, cherry and cherry blossom fruit. Gentle, and caressing. This all about finesse rather than complexity. Exquisite. This comes from two parcels of Volnay villages and is a lovely entry to the range. Producing a light, archetypal Volnay of elegance and perfumed red fruit.

The 2021 Volnay Village wafts from the glass with aromas of sweet red berries, petals, orange zest and smoke. Medium to full-bodied, lively and fleshy, with melting tannins that frame a pretty core of delicate, perfumed fruit, it concludes with a saline finish.
The 2021 Volnay Village has a fragrant nose with delicate red cherry and wild strawberry fruit, well-defined and quintessentially Volnaysian. The palate is medium-bodied with smooth tannins, creamy in texture though it is missing a little depth and complexity, as you might expect given the growing season. Pleasant sweetness on the finish, but this is probably best suited for early consumption.
