Robert Chevillon
Bourgogne, Rouge, 2019
justerini & brooks tasting note
Dense, dark and powerful – really deep for a Bourgogne, definitely one to lay down. By the finish some nice, aromatic, red fruited Pinot notes shimmers through the wine's intense, thick-set core.

Bursting with aromas of cherries, raspberries, espresso roast and peony, the 2019 Bourgogne Rouge is medium-bodied, lively and gourmand, with melting tannins and a fleshy core of fruit.

The 2019 Bourgogne Pinot Noir, taken from barrel because it undergoes a longer barrel maturation than many, has a generous, smudged strawberry and mulberry bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet entry, and slightly confit-like, revealing brown spices toward the finish. Just looking for a little more tension here.
