Condrieu, Clos Chanson, 2024
One of the best vintages we have tasted of this wine, the 2024 impresses for its golden fruited nature, allied to fine spice, violet and snappy saltiness. There is a clarity to this full bodied white that makes it very easy to taste, dry-tasting and appetising. Super. From 60 year old vines plus a small part of 2012 planted vines that go in to Chanson or Classic Condrieu depending on the quality.

Using grapes from roughly 70-year-old vines planted on the same-name lieu-dit, the 2024 Condrieu Clos Chanson pours out initial aromas of perfumed lemon flesh, linden blossom, honeysuckle, early-ripe peach and apricot. White flowers add more floral lift. Poised between medium and full in body and notably concentrated, the 2024 ends with outstanding finesse and persistence on the focused finish.
