Condrieu, Coteau de Chery, 2023
More citrus driven and lively on the nose, underpinned by concentrated rich fruits, Chery 2023 is a Condrieu that offers more structure and minerality; a wine that is a little more bound up than the more immediately complex Chanson – its class and potential is evident on the long, persistent finish. The Chery vineyard boasts very pure, soft sandy granite soils that enable the roots to go deep, resulting in wines of strong mineral character. The vines are between 40 and 80 years old. It is one of the great vineyards of Condrieu. Aged in barriques for a year, of which only 10% are new.
critic reviews
The 2023 Condrieu Chéry is so alluring as it opens with pronounced dried blossom, white peach, lightly threaded apricot and elegant spiciness adding verve. Densely weighted, crisp and concentrated, the 2023 is a dashing Condrieu Chéry, coming off the mid-palate with citric persistence and quietly woven saltiness on the elongated finish.
