Fragrant, wild red berry fruit caress the palate and charm the senses; round and creamy but animated enough to hold your attention. With its silky but high-toned translucent fruit, this is on the more elegant side of the Rhône spectrum - a style that belies the haunting intensity of the finish. Stunning. From a blend of grapes coming from vines in the Grand Pierre and Pointu sectors just south of Rayas where plantations are 85% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre and the rest a mixture of other permitted co-planted varieties. Whole bunch, spontaneous yeast-fermented and aged in old oak tonneaux for two springs.
