Grenache Noir, 2025
A new addition to the range, first bottled in 2024, the success of which has seen production rise from 2,000bts to 5,000bts in 2025 – joining the Grenache Blanc, Cinsault and Syrah in the range of characterful single varietal bottlings that deliver immense pleasure and definition. From a single Paardeberg vineyard in the Swartland on decomposed granite, one of the highest in the region, it was planted ten years ago and affirms the idea that the right site and the right vines can compete with the best of the old vineyards. Not a simple, flyaway red, there is real grip and structure to the 2025, offering a wash of smart pink fruit and spices; fresh raspberry and currants; with a chalky acidity and fresh finish. Superb. Aged in Stockinger cask for 8 months, it then moves in to concrete for the last few months before bottling.
