Monument, 2022

The 2022 Semillon Monument comes from the top part of the vineyard, picked at more than 13% alcohol, racked a little cleaner than the Chenin with less solids, and raised in smaller used vessels. It boasts one of my favorite aromatics with lemon thyme, crushed rock, blackcurrant leaf and lime. The palate is medium-bodied with a waxy texture, fine tension and good depth, although it needs a little more complexity to develop on the finish.
