Ribera del Duero,

Aalto, made by Vega Sicilia legend Mariano Garcia and Javier Zaccagnini, comes exclusively from 100% Tinto Fino vines aged between 30 to 90 years old situated in 7 different zones within Ribera. The grapes are hand-harvested into small containers, and after fermentation the wines are aged for 23 months, on average, in 50% new French barrels and 50% one- to two-year old barrels. The 2007 was bottled in June 2010. This is beautifully juicy and silky, fresher than any other Aalto yet, beautiful velvet -textured black cherry, bramble and blueberry fruit flavours, sweet smooth hints of crushed raspberries and cream, with uplifting fresh-cut wild Mediterranean herb characteristics. A beautifully focused, seamless and lengthy finish.
