Di Costanzo
Cabernet Sauvignon, Charlie Smith Vineyard, Sonoma, 2021
justerini & brooks tasting note
Also on Sonoma’s Moon Mountain, but sat just below Montecillo at 1700 ft this vineyard came to Massimo as it changed hands and as a result he got to cherry pick his spot. Their site sits below the terracing, and offers up a touch more concentration and structure than the Montecillo, with a generous core of velvety fruit, dark berries and touches of shaved dark chocolate that add a seductive angle to the structured intensity. Built to age, this is one to lay down for around a decade, to see the very best from it. Very impressive!
