Burgundy 2023: All Wines

If 2022 gave us cause for optimism, that great wines can be made in a changing climate, then 2023 takes this a step further. A year of intermittent sunshine and rain provided the ideal conditions for vines up and down the Côte to produce a full crop of healthy grapes. Unusually strong bursts of heat at the end of August and into early September provided a ripening fillip for heavily laden vines, and had vignerons racing to harvest. The net result is a vintage where the best of the wines are both expressive and utterly charming, full of fruit but freshness too. Destined to give drinkers huge amounts of pleasure over the mid-term, there is much to love in Burgundy’s bountiful and rather beautiful 2023 vintage.
