With the May Bank Holiday fast approaching and the months of non-stop rain hopefully relegated to the rear-view mirror, what better way to celebrate than by pulling the cork (or in this case the glass stopper) on a fantastic Southern French Rosé.
A blend of 85% old vine Grenache and 15% Rolle, the fruit for Domaine Montrose’s Prestige Cuvée is sourced entirely from the estate’s best vineyards. Beautifully pale in colour and bursting with aromas of wild red berries, sweet clementine and white peach, it proves vibrant and zesty on the pallet with a mouth-wateringly crisp finish. It is a rosé that will transport you to warm summer evenings on the continent.
A small part of the blend is vinified and aged in old oak barrels, giving the wine a lovely soft, creamy mouthfeel, a welcome accompaniment to any meal (especially with freshly grilled fish or a charcuterie board), though food is not a pre-requisite to pure, refreshing enjoyment. A must-have rosé in every fridge this summer!
