Bordeaux 2025: Château Montrose and Château La Conseillante

Chateau Montrose brings down the curtain on the 2025 en primeur campaign. This “timeless classic”, is a fitting finale, one of the finest wine of this fascinating vintage. It is also the only wine that boasts potentially perfect scores from both William Kelley and Neal Martin, the latter summarising, “this is a Montrose that will rank as one for the ages. Wow”. There’s no doubt this is a quite exceptional Montrose with a powerful, multidimensional core and a zen-like balance.

Marielle Cazaux’s La Conseillante shares the send-off. This outstanding Pomerol is enjoying a purple patch under Marielle’s leadership. The 2025 is wonderfully nuanced and supremely seductive. We love the expressive bouquet, the generous core of velvety fruit and the detailed, filigree tannins. For many, this is the quintessential expression of Pomerol.
