Three Rosés for the August Bank Holiday

With the August bank holiday just around the corner, it’s often seen as the unofficial last hurrah of summer; a time to gather with friends, enjoy long lunches, or take a quiet moment to pause and reflect. One thing’s for certain: if the weather is fine, it’s the ideal moment to open something that captures the season in a glass. Rosé!

Whether you’re looking for something casual or a taste of Riviera charm, we’ve selected three delicious bottles to suit every occasion.

Domaine Montrose Rosé, 2024 – £9.61 per bottle (Inc. Duty & VAT) Offering great value, this blend of 80% Grenache, 15% Cinsault and 5% Syrah is aged entirely in stainless steel. Pale and delicate in colour, it brims with citrus and wild red berries. The palate is bright and lively, finishing crisp and dry. Nestled in the heart of the Languedoc in the south of France, the estate has been crafting wines since 1701, each bottle a true reflection of the region’s sunny Mediterranean terroir.

Saint Max Rosé, 2024 – £13.66 per bottle (Inc. Duty & VAT) Saint Max Rosé, from Côtes de Provence, delivers all the elegance you’d expect without the price tag. Delicately made by our good friends at leading Rhône estate Château Mont-Redon, it’s brilliantly pale pink with aromas of grapefruit, lemon blossom and summer berries. The palate is light and fresh, offering everything you could want from a classic Provençal rosé.

Whispering Angel Rosé, 2023 – £22.66 per bottle (Inc. Duty & VAT) Whispering Angel Rosé needs little introduction. Made by the famed Château d’Esclans, it will transport you straight to the Riviera. A harmonious blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Rolle, this iconic Côtes de Provence rosé is crisp yet peachy, with enticing notes of wild strawberry and orange blossom. The palate is finely textured and wonderfully moreish, finishing bone-dry with a whisper of sea salt.
