Justerini & Brooks is delighted to have introduced three new, exclusive Portuguese producers to our portfolio for Spring 2022, as well as a classic, well-priced rendition of Vinho Verde from respected co-operative Adega de Moncao which hails from the prime, northern reaches of the Vinho Verde appellation.

Where we have a long history of importing the finest fortified wines of Portugal, it was becoming increasingly clear that the local wine scene in Portugal has reached a really exciting juncture as we look ahead in 2022. I am absolutely delighted that we can now boast three genuinely young, refreshing projects, each with a contemporary feel, but with philosophies that respect the traditions of their respective regions.”
From Bairrada, we will henceforth distribute Vadio Wines in the UK Off and On-Trades. Established by the couple Luis Patrao and Eduarda Dias, the estate produces elegant reds based on the Baga variety, a shimmering Atlantic white from a blend of Bical and Cercial, and two delicious sparkling wines; a solera method white and a vintage rose.
In the Dão, we are proud to introduce to the UK a brand-new project called Textura Wines, whose first vintage was 2018. Established by the ambitious and quality-driven Marcelo Araujo, Mariana Salvador oversees the cellar and winemaking duties, while Portuguese superstar Luis Seabra acts as consultant to the project.
Finally, come two wines from independent winemaker Henrique Cizeron, who makes wines under the ‘Cinetica’ brand: a premium Loureiro Reserva Vinho Verde and dry Douro red. The small production Loureiro 2020 is the maiden vintage, and benefits from a low-yielding, high quality approach that combines stainless steel and barrel fermentation. The 2018 Douro red is sourced from the schist-rich Pinhão Valley and is produced in a smooth but engaging and drinkable style that we hope will appeal to a wide range of customers.
