Marco Marengo
Barolo, 2022
justerini & brooks tasting note
An engaging and user-friendly Barolo that delivers neat ripe, fruits, juiciness and an agreeable mouthfeel. Produced from four vineyards, all in La Morra: Serradenari, Roncaglie, Boiolo and Fossati. Each component is vinified separately and blended in stainless steel tank four months before bottling. The wine was aged for 24 months in 20% large cask and 80% barrique with 8-10% new oak.

The 2022 Barolo is a bold, juicy wine to drink now and over the next handful of years while the fruit remains vibrant. Black cherry, plum, new leather, licorice, chocolate and sweet spice give this fleshy, inviting Barolo a good deal of complexity. Floral overtones lift the finish. This is quite good.
