Tasting Note:

Always one of the darker more taciturn Volnays of this stable. Structured but with the silky suave texture that has been a feature of this wine for the last few years. Tasted from barrel its qualities are evident but there is a sense of more to come afforded time in bottle. Dark berry fruit, hints of creme de mûre and cherry, with gravelly notes of earth, stone and rock salt. Powerful but toned and profound. From a parcel in the high part of the village. The slope here is very steep and well exposed, the soil is very white, poor and stony, giving wines that are racy and tight-packed in their youth that reward hugely given time.
