Bordeaux is most famously known for its structured, age-worthy red wines that can rest for many decades before reaching their peak. However, 10% of production is white wine made from Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. Much of this is made in Entre-Deux-Mers, where the zesty character of Sauvignon Blanc is tempered by the richness of Semillon. Many producers also make Bordeaux Blanc in more famous appellations, such as Chateau Grand Village, on the right-bank of Bordeaux. The best of all white Bordeaux, though, is inevitably found in Pessac-Leognan, where the most serious white wines of Bordeaux are produced.
