Château de Fieuzal is one of Pessac-Léognan’s historic estates, with a winemaking heritage stretching back more than 400 years and its red wine classified as a Grand Cru Classé de Graves in 1959. The estate’s gravel-rich terroir, interspersed with sand, gives the wines a distinctive combination of mineral character and freshness, while 74 individual vineyard plots allow for highly precise parcel management. Since its acquisition by the Quinn family in 2001, significant investment in the winery and vineyard has accompanied a modern approach to winemaking under Stephen Carrier, with separate oak, stainless-steel and concrete vessels allowing each parcel to be handled according to its character. The result is a range of elegant, expressive wines that combine the depth and structure expected of Pessac-Léognan with a pronounced sense of freshness and place.
