Château Méaume is a family-owned estate in Maransin on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, around 15 kilometres from Pomerol, with a history stretching back more than two centuries. Alan and Sue Johnson-Hill acquired the property in 1978 and modernised the estate while retaining a strong focus on traditional, environmentally minded vineyard management. Today, Mark and Sandra Johnson-Hill continue that family stewardship, producing Merlot-led Bordeaux from clay-limestone soils. The estate’s approach combines careful vineyard work with modern winery facilities, allowing the wines to express the freshness, generosity and character of their Right Bank origins.
