Morey St Denis, Clos des Rosiers, Monopole, 2017
justerini & brooks tasting note
Very pretty Morey. Spiced soft red crushed berries, charming and smooth but with a little more depth to it than usual. Ripe red fruit flavours mixed with sweet spice notes and an earthy touch adding some complexity. Open-knit and very alluring. An extremely well-situated Monopole just below and adjacent to Clos des Lambrays that is planted on Premier Cru land. Aged in 50% new oak.

The 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis Clos des Rosier, which I originally tasted just after bottling, has a fragrant nose with cranberry and raspberry, more tertiary scents developing with time. The palate is medium-bodied, sweet and candied with good weight on the finish. Fine.
