Aromatic, flashy and immediately flattering though perhaps some higher-toned more ethereal notes than usual. Super ripe plum, raspberry and damson flavours, with a good balancing poise and structure.

The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru requires a few swirls of the glass to get going, revealing hints of raspberry, rooibos and bay leaf on the nose. The aromatics feel very harmonious. The palate is medium-bodied with a sapid entry, very cohesive and poised, yet there is both weight and transparency here. Very elegant and poised on the finish, this is a classy Chambolle-Musigny that will put on more weight during the second winter in barrel.
