Aromas of cassis, plums, red fruits and spices introduce the 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Prieur, a medium to full-bodied, lively wine that's one of the firmer, more youthfully structured cuvées in the Drouhin range this year. It will reward a bit of patience.

The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Prieur 1er Cru has a more minerally bouquet that's a little more austere at the moment but with impressive delineation and elegance. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. It doesn't have the same level of grip as its peers, but it is very pure, graceful and silky smooth in texture. This is delicious.
