Puligny-Montrachet, 2023
justerini & brooks tasting note
More exotic and dense than the Bourgogne without losing freshness and line. A cool crisp yet ripe acidity underpins this; texturally it is all silk, no hard edges yet also manages to be impressively taut. Great balance on display. A Puligny Villages that originates from seven different Villages parcels, the oldest vines of which were planted in the 1950s and 60s.

The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Village is a big step up from the Bourgogne Blanc in this vintage, with crisp green apple, crushed stone and light orange blossom scents. The palate is fresh and taut with a silver bead of acidity. Vibrant, surfeit and energetic, this is a seriously fine Village Cru flirting with Premier Cru complexity.
