Mâcon Milly Lamartine, 2023

Very pretty, floral, orchard fruit and a hint of ripe stone fruit – nothing more than a subtle and cheery nod to the warm end of season conditions. Expressive and spritely, fleet-flooted and “digeste” as the French would say, fruit that dances brightly across the palate. Two-thirds aged and fermented in wooden foudres, the rest in tank. From the sub-zone of Milly where the wines tend to be very mineral and taut, this is Héritiers Lafon’s highest Mâcon vineyard at an altitude of 350 metres.
