    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

One of the benchmark Vosne style Nuits vineyards, on the north side of the Nuits appellation, Sylvain’s parcel averages 65 years old. A quite extraordinary wine, this has the density of a truly great Nuits with the polish and presentation of a high class Vosne, svelte, velvety blackberry, plum and cherry fruits, faint touches of spice, an extra layer of complexity and more weight here than Sylvain’s Nuits Thorey Cuvée.

Deep, bright red-ruby. Captivating mineral lift to the aromas of black fruits and spices; I might have picked this as coming from Vosne. Fresh, balanced and sharply delineated, with intense dark fruit flavors enlivened by a floral element. Finishes long and vibrant, with very suave tannins. These 65-year-old vines are the estate's oldest, along with their Romanee-Saint-Vivant.
