Tasting Note:

Incredibly impressive for its content as much as its shape. For this is a hefty wine. Multi-layered and full-bodied yet such tone, detail and nuance considering the power and muscle. Concentrated flavours of cassis, high-toned wild cherry, clove and refreshing minerals propped up by a thick-backbone of fine-grained, mouth-filling tannins. Big but kinetic and never too cumbersome. An epic. The Riserva is a vineyard selection from within the Ginestra, usually but not exclusively from the middle and upper parts of the vineyard. The wine stays on its skins after fermentation for a little longer than the regular bottling, 40 days. Ageing is for 6 years in large used Slavonian oak casks. Only produced in the best vintages, production is usually around 4000 bottles.
