Barolo, Bricco Ambrogio [Library Release 2026], 2016

Available Vintages
justerini & brooks tasting note

Blue fruit with some spiciness. Creamy flower and sweet plum flavours. Not complex but gentle, fluid and easy to enjoy. The top cru of the lesser-known commune of Roddi, a very windy terroir exposed south east and planted at 150 metres above sea level. Aged for one year in large oak ‘botti’ and one year in barriques with a maximum of 10 percent new wood.

critic reviews

94/100Antonio Galloni,Vinous

The 2016 Barolo Bricco Ambrogio is very pretty in 2016. Medium in body and supple, the Bricco Ambrogio captures all of the personality of the year in a mid-weight style that makes it easy to drink and enjoy young. The balance of fruit, acid and structure is just superb here. Pretty floral and spice overtones add nuance. Bricco Ambrogio is always the most accessible of the Scavino cru Barolos. The 2016 is the finest wine from this site yet.
