Barolo, Carobric [Library Release 2026], 1999
A blend of three top crus, Cannubi Rocche and Bric del Fiasc, this Carobric dislays ultra ripe silky forest fruits with hints of sultana sweetness, bridled by firm tannic grip.
critic reviews
Scavino's 1999 Barolo Carobric explodes from the glass with freshly cut flowers, sweet red berries, mint, licorice and sweet tobacco. Impeccable and layered, the 1999 impresses for its exceptional balance and pure sensuality. In magnum, the Carobric is still very, very young. Readers lucky enough to own it are in for a real treat. This is a dazzling, total mesmerizing Barolo from the Scavino family.
The 1999 Barolo Carobric, shows more fruit and varietal Nebbiolo personality than Cannubi, much volume and roundness of flavor, anise and mineral notes, and an important dimension and depth. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2018. A Marc de Grazia Selection, various American importers, including Michael Skurnik, Syosset, NY; tel. (516) 677-9300, Vin Divino, Chicago, IL; tel.
