Cornish Point, Pinot Noir, Central Otago, 2019

Tasting Note:

More open and aromatic than Bannockburn. Still very dark berries but with some higher toned notes and a glimpse of strawberry. Softer and gentler, you feel the tannins less but there is great persistence. Very silky and fluid, attractive but not light, the intensity grows on you and builds. Finer boned but not weak. From the Cornish Point vineyard, where the proximity to the water creates its own special meso climate. The relatively deep but friable loess soils here usually yields wines of opulence and generosity. Fermented with 25% whole bunches and aged for 13 months in a quarter new burgundy barrels.
