Anderson Valley

To the far North of California lies the Anderson Valley; a narrow strip, 16 miles long, channeling the cool currents of the Pacific Ocean down its length. These cooler temperatures, as well as the fog drawn in during the night, make it one of the freshest growing areas in California. As a result, many of the regions best sparkling wines are produced here as well as crisp Chardonnay, delicate Pinot Noir and aromatic grape varieties like Riesling and Gewurztraminer. Rhys Vineyards are one of the most famous names in the valley, with prime vineyards sites on the hills above the fog line.
