Bordeaux 2025: Vieux Chateau Certan, Figeac and Calon Segur
This afternoon we have three Justerini & Brooks favourites, chateaux that have been stalwarts of our annual Bordeaux tasting, who regularly produce some of the finest wines in the region.
We start with the Thienpont’s marvellous VCC, a wine that’s so good it vies with Petrus and Lafleur for top billing in Pomerol. We love this super-vibrant VCC – one of the finest examples we’ve tasted from this great vineyard.
Across the road, we have Frédéric Faye’s exceptional Figeac. This unique terroir has once again produced a superb St Emilion bursting with floral scented, just ripe fruit. This is a glorious!
Our final release is the excellent Calon Segur – a gorgeous, classically proportioned St Estephe, which reverberates with cool, minty cassis, graphite and violets.
