Rare Whisky Collectors’ Spotlight

When we’re choosing whiskies for collectors, we look for bottles that feel irreplaceable. Age alone doesn’t make them special. It’s the story, the scarcity, and the personality in the glass. These four capture all of that.

Pittyvaich, Prima & Ultima Fourth Release, 30 Year Old, 1992 There’s something quietly poetic about Pittyvaich. A distillery open for barely two decades, long gone but still whispering through a handful of surviving casks. This 30-year-old release is delicate yet complex - orchard fruit, soft oak, and a thread of sweetness that feels frozen in time. With only 609 bottles ever made, it’s special because you’re not just gifting whisky; you’re gifting a piece of history that will never be repeated.

Johnnie Walker Ultra This bottle fascinates us - a redesign of an icon that proves luxury can evolve. The Johnnie Walker Ultra reimagines Blue Label in striking new form and is built from net-zero distilleries such as Oban, Brora and Royal Lochnagar, as well as a variety of ghost whiskies. Johnnie Walker Ultra is a prototype that showcases what luxury, lighter-weight, lower-carbon bottles of the future could look like, making it an ideal gift for someone who values heritage but lives in the present.

Talisker 30 Year Old There’s a power in well-aged Talisker that few other coastal whiskies match. After three decades, the smoke softens, the spice rounds, and the sea air lingers like memory. It’s commanding yet calm. We find it special because it feels like Skye distilled into patience - a rare and evocative gift for anyone drawn to the sea and its stories. A personal favourite of a number of our whisky experts, this is a beautiful example of mature Talisker.

Knockando, Cask of Distinction, 32 Year Old, Justerini & Brooks 275th Anniversary This is one we’re particularly proud of. Selected to mark Justerini & Brooks’ 275th year, the 32-year-old Knockando comes from a single exceptional cask. It’s elegant, layered, and beautifully mature — prunes, figs, raisins and black cherries on a base of planed oak, in perfect balance. It’s special because it represents craftsmanship at its most personal, making it a meaningful gift for those who appreciate rarity with a sense of occasion.

Each of these whiskies holds its own story of rarity and refinement. For collectors, they’re more than festive gifts — they’re the kind of bottles people remember being given.
