    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

One of the most elegant and finely poised wines from this Domaine yet, whilst still betraying a fair degree of typical Clos de Tart richness, power and sensuality. Suave ripe red berry fruits mixed with mineral, red cherry, oak spice, victoria plum and fresh cut flower, an aromatic edge that no doubt comes from the large proportion of whole bunch fermentation employed here. Lush and sweet but with sufficient focus and tension. Bright lively but generous with a long intense, precise perfumed finish. Ravishing.

    Neal Martin,

The 2011 Clos de Tart Grand Cru was picked from September 10 at 28hl/ha and 13.5° alcohol. It displays the hallmarks of the vintage on a leafy, almost autumnal nose that seems to have been the same now for two or three years. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly dry, stiff tannin, more black fruit than other vintages and hints of espresso and tobacco. This appears to have become a little more austere in recent months, whereas it previously displayed more depth and complexity. It is difficult to predict how this 2011 will mature. Tasted in Burgundy.
