Barolo, Riserva, 10 Anni, Fossati, Case Nere, 2016

Always released after ten years, the 2016 Case Nere is dark but expressive and spicy, offering briny notes of liquorice, tar and plum. It remains quite tannic and upright; a good example of the verticality and long-term potential of the vintage. Great concentration and length, so drink after a good decant.
