Lujan de Cuyo

Located just south of Mendoza lies Lujan de Cuyo; one of Argentina´s most important wine producing communes. Vineyards stretch from the foothills of the Andes Mountains to the Lunluta hills, with the rain shadow of both creating a dry, desert like condition. Unsurprisingly, the wines are robust and powerful, with Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon taking centre stage, paired with the natural freshness afforded by the high altitudes here. Some of the biggest names in Argentina produce wine here including some of its most traditional names, such as Familia Cassone and Catena.
