The Ried Spitzerberg is the top wine of the estate, a selection of the oldest plots of the site with a hard limestone base. A big step up in complexity here, blending sappy red fruit and fresh herbal aromatics on the nose with deeper more complex fruit on the palate. Excellent and clear delineation of flavours with fine, sweet tannins finishing on salt. Very long on the finish and shimmering in a linear style, balancing 2017’s natural generosity of fruit. Bottled at a very moderate 13%.
