Château Brane-Cantenac
Baron de Brane, Margaux, 2016
justerini & brooks tasting note
It’s no secret that the Margaux commune shone in 2015, and one of the leading lights was the outstanding Brane Cantenac. Their second label Baron de Brane is also a real hit. It is bursting with pure cabernet fruit, seductive cassis, a touch of bramble, with notes of sweet briar and cedar. There is a voluptuousness and charm that makes this classic Margaux most alluring. Drink now-2025.

89/100Neal Martin,Vinous
The 2016 Baron de Brane has a crisp, well-defined bouquet of blackberry, black tea and cedar aromas. The medium-bodied palate features succulent brambly black fruit. Clearly the “juiciest” of recent vintages of Baron de Brane, with a pastille-like finish. Tasted at the Brane-Cantenac vertical at the château.
