critic reviews
The 2015 Clinet has long been one of my favorite vintages from this decade. It continues to dish out pleasure, with finely delineated redcurrant, wilted rose petal and light mocha scents blossoming on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied and still grainy in texture, with fine-boned tannins and a tensile, sturdy finish. This is a Clinet that will require time to mellow in bottle, so afford this another two or three years. The bottles poured blind at Farr Vintners' Ten-Year-On tasting did not show as well. Tasted at the 2015 Ten-Year-On tasting at Bordeaux Index.
A highly successful Clinet, with ripe fruit, delivered with a swagger and a generosity and this is a great example of the vintage. Crayon, raspberry, sweet cherry, sandalwood, cocoa bean, black tea, fennel. 65% new oak. 37hl/h yield. Ronan Laborde owner.
