The 2023 Château d'Aiguilhe was picked between September 6 and 27, a comparatively long harvest. It yielded 30hL/ha and underwent a 32 day cuvaison, followed by aging in 20% new oak. There is a sense of airiness on the nose deriving from the limestone/clay soil—just a little diffuse. Maybe barrel-aging with bind the aromatics together. The palate is medium-bodied with fine structure. It's quite foursquare, demonstrating more complexity than the preceding Clos Marsalette, with fine delineation and mineralité on the finish. Excellent.

    Château d'Aiguilhe

Chateau d’Aiguilhe covers 2.40 hectares at the entrance of the village of Saint-Philippe d'Aiguilhe, east of Saint-Emilion. Located at an altitude of over 110 m, on a limestone plateau, the vineyard has a natural drainage and sunshine. The wines are the result of the combination of tradition and modernity. Noble grapes carefully grown and vinified using the most modern methods lead to generous wines that are subtle and fine.
