Château Doisy Védrines, 2ème Cru Classé, Barsac, 2025
Doisy Vedrines 2025 is 80% Semillon, 10% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Sauvignon Gris, 2% Muscadelle. Barsac seems to have fared very well in this warm vintage, if Doisy Vedrines is anything to go by. Ripe and unctuous pineapple, honey, dried apricot and stem ginger. A little bitter marmalade appears on the long exotic finish, with some orange zest providing lift.
critic reviews
The 2025 Doisy-Védrines Grand Vin Sec has a green apple and kiwi scented nose, like some of its peers, just missing a little complexity. The palate is balanced, with a rounded texture on the entry, but thereafter it never really kicks on and feels a little flat on the finish. I preferred the 2024 last year at this stage.
Bitter orange marmalade character, with attractive studs of bitter fennel that help balance out the succulence of the exotic fruit character. Yield 10hl/ha.
