critic reviews
Deep garnet-purple colored. Black raspberries, plums, and tar notes jump from the glass, leading to an earthy undercurrent. The medium-bodied palate is pleasantly plush with just enough fruit and freshness, finishing soft-spoken and savory.
The 2024 Feytit-Clinet has quite an expressive bouquet with lifted blackberry, black olive and light smoky scents that unfold in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins. Strangely, the oak feels a bit too present. Perhaps this is a stage it is going through on the barrel that it was taken from? I will have to revisit this because it is one of my favorite Pomerols.
Grilled oak, well textured damson and cherry pit, shows depth through the mid palate, enjoyable cloves and white pepper, even a touch of orange peel. Consultant Rolland Laboratory. 33hl/ha. Harvest 18 to 28 September. 65% new oak, JM Chasseuil winemaker and owner.
